The recent homicidal rampage at a US Army base in which an army major allegedly slaughtered 13 people and wounded 30 others, red-flags an issue in urgent need of our attention.
Why exactly did a professional soldier suddenly go mad and start murdering his colleagues?
According to press reports, he started shooting at random for no particular reason and it is the most tragic of ironies that he was also an army psychiatrist. Psychiatrists are presented as experts on the mind and behaviour, yet self-evidently, none of the psychiatrists on the base were able to detect, treat or prevent this psychosis.
So profoundly was this most extreme of psychoses overlooked that a homicidal maniac was on post and had routine access to lethal weaponry right up to the moment when he "flipped." How did no-one see this coming?

How a man who had for years been trusted to counsel fellow soldiers on how to cope with the extreme stresses of combat and injury, ever get into such a state? Moreover, how did his seniors and fellow experts on the mind fail to notice that he was coming apart at the seams?
This episode strongly suggests that the expertise one might reasonably expect to be in evidence was somehow lacking. It would be folly indeed to entrust the minds of our soldiers to men who are not competent, particularly as the drugs dispensed by them are known to impair judgement, dull thought, slow reaction times and reduce impulse control and so this is a matter urgently in need of an investigation.
Much has been made, of course, of the fact that the Major was a Muslim, as if that explains why he went berserk. The logic, presumably, is that holding certain religious beliefs renders one dangerously unhinged. Given that so many atrocities historically were also committed by atheists (Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Milosevic etc) by that logic NOT holding religious beliefs also renders one unhinged. And where does that leave us? Unhinged, presumably.
However, I can imagine that a Muslim soldier serving in the army at a time when the US is at war with Muslim countries will have been thoroughly vetted, checked, watched and whatever else the security services do with Muslim servicemen in the current climate. So either the security services were asleep at the wheel in this case - which I don't believe - or, the sweeping generalisations of the terminally dense notwithstanding, he did not unhinge simply because he was a Muslim.
As an aside, one should also reflect that a Muslim psychiatrist is a strange contradiction. Islam holds that Man is a spiritual being and that God is his truth and obedience to God his route to salvation. Psychiatry holds that Man is, essentially, without a soul and operating on stimulus-response and that his salvation lies in drugs and other psychiatric interventions to "manage" whatever is wrong with him. One considers Man has a soul, the other considers that he doesn't. Whichever tenet one personally holds to be true, it is a little hard to imagine how one can hold both to be true simultaneously.
Be all this as it may, there is one aspect to this puzzle about which the media has been strangely silent and that is that, as a matter of record, many psychiatrists self-medicate. A study in the journal "Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics," for example, revealed that 16% of psychiatrists self-medicate. This is a very high percentage and means that as many as one in six psychiatrists are on one or more medications for mental illness.
Find Your Highest Joy - Suffering seems to come in as many forms as there are people. It seems that everyone has found their own ingenious way to suffer, and suffering is definitely a most congruent and defining part of humanity. Suffering is what makes, creates or defines the individual, or what makes the person. If there was no suffering, life would be like the sculptor without the chisel, no face could be rendered clearly, nor one's individuality could ever be well-defined! Do not be alarmed that suffering is such a defining part of humanity and such a seemingly impossible thing to avoid. We suffer to learn from our mistakes and improve our self-worth. Suffering is part of a feed-back mechanism to keep us motivated...
Psychiatry prescribes its medications to manage serious and incurable mental disorders. This suggests then that one in six psychiatrists consider they have a serious and incurable mental disorder and this should be worrying enough for the military authorities for them to want to take a closer look at the situation.
Given that psychiatric drugs have many serious side effects and these include depression, suicidal thoughts, aggression and violent impulses (it's on the product labels) and that psychiatric drugs have been linked to other similar rampages it may explain why an army officer suddenly went berserk.
Was the major self-medicating? And did the drugs eventually cause him to "flip?" This is a question that must be impartially investigated by someone who cares about the truth. The well being our troops warrants every effort doesn't it?
But does anyone in the corridors of power truly care?
We shall see.
The only way top judge a man is by his actions - or lack thereof.
Orlando Rampage, Yet Another Horror Linked to Psychiatric Drugs
It doesn't get any better does it? In the same week that Nidal Malik Hasan was slaughtering his fellow soldiers in Texas, Jason Rodriguez (neither a soldier nor a Muslim) went on the rampage in an Orlando, Florida office building, shooting dead one victim and wounding five others.
Rodriguez is confirmed to have been on psychiatric medications when he went on his shooting spree: in a televised interview with Fox News, his former mother-in-law said, "He was under medication...for control of the brain." and went on to explain that mind-altering medications made her former son-in-law "paranoid." Such paranoia and the dramatization of violent impulses against others are well documented and known side effects of psychiatric drugs.
Indeed, these powerful, mind-altering drugs have been linked to virtually every major shooting that has taken place in the United States and elsewhere over the last several decades, for example the Columbine school shooting, the Virginia Tech shooting, the Stephen Kazmierczak Illinois shooting, the Omaha mall shooting and so on. And on. And on......
Psychiatric drugs are the culprit behind more than just these violent rampages. As psychiatric drugging of the people increases, so do violence and crime of all kinds surge, so does mental illness and so does suicide and drug addiction. For example, according to Medwatch, a staggering 63,000 people in the U.S. alone have committed suicide while on antidepressant drugs and that incidentally is more than ten times the number who have died from swine flu. Yet the fuss is made about Swine Flu, not that which has killed ten times as many Americans.

This psycho-pharmacy instigated and propelled onslaught is fast becoming history's first truly global social catastrophe. It is not something that "just sort of happens." It is created and caused, precipitated, perpetuated and nurtured by certain pharmaceutical corporations and their psychiatric pushers.
The connection between these social catastrophes and this psychiatric onslaught is so glaringly obvious and easily proven that even a politician or a journalist ought to be able to see it. Yet somehow they contrive not to.
Get this: we are talking about the deaths of THOUSANDS of people every year and the creation of universal drug dependency so that a few private profit corporations can get very, very rich. While this is going on - indeed rapidly escalating, right in front of its eyes, your government does nothing. It acts collectively and to all intents and purposes as if it does not care. If it cared, it would do something about it wouldn't it?
Yet drugs manufacturers go on concocting and marketing their dangerous, mind-altering drugs and psychiatrists go on legitimizing and pushing them and those who should be protecting the public from such mayhem, far from doing their duty, actually aid and abet the perpetrators. Meanwhile the citizenry continues to be lied to, duped, drugged, debilitated and killed. This is not going to stop. The rampages, murders, violence, suicides and depression will continue to escalate, inside the military as well as outside it, until their CAUSE is removed.
Electing slick politicians will not resolve it, doing nothing will not resolve it, blaming religion, television, atheism, parents, teachers or even Satan will not resolve it. It will just get worse until the day comes when we find ourselves with an honest government that will truly act in the interests of all the people and derail this rogue psycho-pharmaceutical gravy train. Hopefully that day will come soon before many more people have to die and while we still have some civilization left in which to operate.
You think I am being harsh? No doubt some politician will say I am unjust to say he does not care.
The recent declaration by the lead singer of a major rock band that he is addicted to painkillers highlights an alarming showbiz trend in which more and more stars are suffering prescription drug addiction.
The singer joins a growing list of celebrities who have unwittingly become addicted to prescription drugs. Earlier this year (2009), for example, a senior actor admitted he was "a prisoner of prescription pain pills" and entered a rehab. The list includes many other celebrities who have admitted addiction to painkillers and other prescription drugs. These celebrities are of course fortunate that they can afford the expense of rehab, whereas many ordinary folk with the same problems cannot.
Worse, cases of dependence that led to the death of a celebrity by fatal overdose have soared in the last year or so: with several celebrity deaths linked to prescription drug abuse and overdose.
It is quite clear that the celebrity habit of pill-popping has become something of an epidemic and while celebrity tragedies make the headlines, they actually represent the tip of an iceberg.
Parts I and II will contain what I believe to be all the knowledge needed to achieve a much more fulfilling, longer and joyful life, starting with the redirection of one's libido and eventually progressing more and more toward religious ecstasy, higher consciousness, and attunement with the innermost core of one's being: the eternal Self within. The first part will discuss mainly the importance of conserving, containing and transmuting sexual desires into a more expansive energy for a wonderful state of enlightenment. Transmutation can be achieved through special herbs, healthy diet, water, exercise, yoga postures, deep relaxation, vibration, concentration, and a certain form of breathing exercises.
In 2005 (the most recent year for which figures are so far available) non-medical use of painkillers contributed to more than 8,500 deaths in the US alone and overdose deaths involving prescription pain relievers increased 114% from 2001 to 2005, according the US Office of National Drug Control Policy. These figures are far more alarming than those recently quoted for Swine Flu amid panicky talk of pandemics, national emergencies and so forth, yet amazingly relatively little consternation is forthcoming over the greater carnage caused by these drugs!
In the light of the relentless marketing with which these drugs - along with the notion of popping a pill for every twinge or problem - are sold by their manufacturers, figures for subsequent years may well show further increases on the 2005 figures.
Prescription drugs have become the new addiction, a brand new problem heaped upon the mountain of drug problems our beleaguered culture has accrued, another tentacle of a social catastrophe that is going to cost us - and particularly its victims - dear as the years unfold.
But why are we having such a problem? Why have we become the somewhat sad spectacle of a culture whose enfeebled citizens pop pills for every twinge of discomfort and a crutch for every problem?
Underlying this cultural flaw there lies the billions spent by the pharmaceutical industry on marketing in order to instill a way of thinking about drugs favourable to their efforts to sell them and to persuade us to turn to a pill as a solution to whatever ails us. To achieve this persuasion, the dangers of those pills (the addictions and complications that can result from what are, so far as the body is concerned, powerful chemical poisons) are rarely brought fully and honestly to the attention of the target audience. One can understand how this comes about - an industry desperate to sell its products is going to be reluctant to draw our attention to the serious flaws in that product, particularly in an age in which honesty has become, to our immense cost, a dangerously devalued attribute.
Flanking this there is the issue of our faith in the medical profession. Too many doctors, trained in the drug-based paradigm in medical schools financially supported by the pharmaceutical giants, are prone to reach for the prescription pad and we - in the absence of sound advice from those who should provide it - assume the drugs we are prescribed, and indeed encouraged, to use are safe. As a result we tend to believe that prescription drugs are somehow safer and do not to take them as seriously as we should. The plain truth of the matter is that many prescription drugs are as harmful, and often MORE dangerous than street drugs.
This is a strange contradiction. Doctors quite rightly never miss an opportunity to tell us of the dangers of smoking, yet the often greater dangers of the concoctions that pour out of the psycho-pharmacy's laboratories receive nothing like the same attention.
It is common in such cases of drug deaths for official reports to record death as being from a heart attack. This may be true but this begs the question of what causes the heart of a healthy young adult to stop beating.
What usually happens with celebrities and non celebrities alike is this: individuals take a drug or drugs initially to relieve a discomfort or to deal with a difficulty such as anxiety that is robbing them of sleep or poor concentration. They then increase their doses as their tolerance of the drug rises. This is the exact same pattern that occurs with ANY addictive drug but they tend not to worry as the drugs involved were originally prescribed by their physician and the physician did not advise them adequately - if at all - of the dangers. The drugs, particularly when used over an extended period, produce side effects (physical and mental) which are addressed by taking more drugs to suppress them. Eventually the patient ends up on a cocktail of drugs that progressively damages his or her health and mental state and can result in death.
In Britain in 2008 a parliamentary inquiry highlighted these very points. It concluded, for instance, that British doctors are contributing significantly to the increasing the numbers of people hooked on prescription drugs (such as painkillers, sleeping tablets and anti-anxiety pills).
For example, according to the British Home Office the misuse of benzodiazepines has caused a staggering 17,000 deaths in Britain since they came on the market in the 1960s. MPs declared they were "extremely concerned" to have received numerous testimonials from people STILL being negligently prescribed these drugs by their GPs.
Medical experts also told the inquiry that a growing, number of people had become addicted to painkillers, often after taking them initially for genuine medical complaints such as a sore back, period pains or bad headaches.
Many people have developed a dependence on addictive over-the-counter drugs irresponsibly marketed as "solutions" to headaches, period pains and so on.
The majority of those addicted to prescription drugs simply do not realize that ALL drugs - no matter how effective in alleviating a particular set of symptoms - are poisons. They fail to so realize because they do not receive thorough and accurate advice from their doctor.
In this volume, "The Science of Wholeness Part Two" we will cover in detail the foods needed for maximum metabolic efficiency which in turn is essential for advanced meditation and higher states of consciousness. We will also cover food cravings, weight control, importance of raw foods, lactobacilus acidophilus, and how it helps to create ideal physical, mental and spiritual health. I also list some herbs and amino acids that can be used to alleviate depression and other nervous problems that could interfere with achieving samadhi. It is important to know how all the factors I'll be covering combine with one another synergistically. We will discuss meditation, dying, resurrection and the nature of God.
There is then a strong element of irresponsibility on the part of too many members of the medical profession and this has hugely assisted the pharmaceutical industry's profit-motivated drive to get as many millions of people as possible using their products as frequently as possible and for as long as possible.
That drive is further assisted by dereliction of duty on the part of our (hah!) governments that are quite capable, given the will, of raising standards among our doctors and insisting on some social responsibility on the part of those who market and sell drugs.
Parliamentary enquiries and hand-wringing are one thing but where is the ACTION that will start to roll back this catastrophe?
It is an utter disgrace that while men and women are abroad fighting for their country, corporations back in the homeland are using the stresses of their endeavours as a means to make money - moreover, they are making money by peddling bogus solutions in the form of chemicals that wreck them physically and mentally.
Finally, in January this year that particular cat was out of the bag as it became known that more of our military are dying of suicide than of combat deaths.
Why? What is so different about the current war to bring about this strange and tragic phenomenon? Who or what is having more success killing our soldiers than the enemy? After all, something or someone who kills more of our soldiers than the enemy does, is a more dangerous enemy is it not?
The answer is simple: in this war our military are being pumped full of psychiatric drugs and we now have what Time Magazine referred to as "America's Medicated Army."
Now, it is a well documented fact that the chemical poisons known as antidepressants and antipsychotics, with which we are "medicating" our troops cause brain and nerve damage among many other adverse effects and that if you submit an individual to much of this abuse, you will wreck him. Among some of the adverse effects the individual victim is likely to experience can be loss of impulse control, slowed reactions and various perception problems. Such debilitation's are all potentially fatal for a soldier or airman in a combat zone so the number of personnel killed as a consequence of being drugged by their own side may be higher than anyone knows.
This material presents alternative dental research. Much of what we have been taught about tooth decay in schools and colleges is either wrong or incomplete. This book is based on my own experiences and how I used the fascinating research presented by Ramiel Nagel and Dr. Weston A. Price to heal my own cavities without ever having to interact with a dentist. Incorrect nutrition is the real cause of tooth decay! You can heal your dental caries with correct nutrition, the avoidance of snacking, the elimination of excessive carbohydrates and sugars, and the regular brushing after every meal with a special tooth remineralization paste. One must permanently eliminate all junk food and commit to a life-long diet similar to a whole foods Palaeolithic or pre-agricultural regimen.
Among the know side effects of such drugs are suicidal thoughts and impulses and it does not take a genius to realise then that if we are medicating our soldiers on an unprecedented scale with drugs known to cause suicidal impulses and they are killing themselves at a rate faster that the enemy can manage, then the drugs are behind it.
Behind the drugs are the psychiatrists who push them, the special psychiatric units now attached to the military that dish them out and encourage their use and the manufacturers who make them and reap vast profits from their consumption by hundreds of thousands of military personnel.
There are further profits made when personnel return to the homeland, for many psychiatric drugs are designed to be addictive (more money to be made from people who can't stop taking them) and people who begin on psychiatric medications all too often become customers of the psycho-pharmacy for life.
We all knew that the arms manufacturers were profiting from the wars that send out sons and daughters to their deaths but now, in these dark times of corporate mayhem, the drug makers are at it too.
In Vietnam, the war effort was sabotaged by drugging our soldiers with street drugs, now the sabotage has been institutionalized and the saboteurs, the pedlars of mind-altering chemicals "respectable". Although the scale of it may be unprecedented, this is not in fact the first time that psychiatry has coiled itself around the military. The involvement dates back dates back more than 90 years.
During World War I, for example, the biggest problem the German army faced was desertions from the front lines. So the German military elite, from their chateaux and bunkers safely far behind the lines, turned to psychiatrists who presented themselves as experts.
The psychiatrists came up with the "miracle cure" of the day: electro shock, the process of searing parts of the brain with electricity (try wiring your head up to the mains!). The theory was that if the shocks soldiers experienced due to the brutalities of the war made them run away, then another shock-electricity to the brain-could get them to willingly return to combat. Stupid as this sounds, the Germans bought it and it appears to have been successful, from the point of view of the German elite at least, in so far as many soldiers chose to face the front lines rather than be tortured again by having another 450 volts of current tear through their brain.
A shabby and cruel terror tactic carried out against their countrymen it might have been but it was good enough for the German military elite (who themselves did not have to submit to it) and the love affair between the psychiatry and the military elites of various nations had begun and has continued ever since.
Today, electroshock is a discredited barbarity but the public have not yet caught on to the damage done by drugs, although recently the truth has been emerging little by little - too slowly unfortunately to have saved many lives.
In 2006, The Philadelphia Enquirer reported that drug use was an increasing problem in Iraq and at the back of this lay the fact that the medics were generously handing out prescription medications and these were being abused.
Bruce E. Levine, Ph.D., clinical psychologist and author of Surviving America's Depression Epidemic, pointed out in February 2009, "Americans heard about a dramatic rise in suicides among U.S. soldiers." And, sure enough, army statistics confirmed 128 suicides (with 15 more deaths under investigation), while suicides for the Marines also increased, with 41 in 2008, up from 33 in 2007 and 25 in 2006.
According to Best Syndication News (April 17, 2009), suicides among soldiers serving in Iraq were reported to be twice that of other wars, while the number of soldiers who killed themselves during January 2009 exceeded the number of soldiers who were killed by the enemy in Afghanistan and Iraq combined during the same time period.
What has changed? Our soldiers are no less courageous than the soldiers who have fought for their country in earlier wars and the conditions are bad enough but surely not worse than the conditions faced by their fathers in Vietnam. Who or what is doing this and in so doing aiding the enemy in its goal of killing our soldiers?
What has changed is the wholesale use of prescribed drugs, especially antidepressants that are worse than street drugs and known to cause suicidal thoughts and feelings. This is a new phenomenon: such a thing did not happen during other wars and in my view we are looking at what amounts to a Fifth Column activity in its effects.
Don't take my word for just how harmful these drugs are. As long ago as March 2004, an FDA Public Health Advisory about these antidepressants, warned: "Anxiety, agitation, panic attacks, insomnia, irritability, hostility, impulsivity, akathisia [severe restlessness], hypomania [abnormal excitement, mild mania] and mania [psychosis characterized by exalted feelings, delusions of grandeur and overproduction of ideas], have been reported in adult and pediatric patients being treated with antidepressants..." It omits other known side effects of drugs: slow reaction times and distortions in perception, which of themselves place a soldier in a war zone at inordinate risk.
Dr. Levine (see above) pointed out: "While treatment for emotionally troubled soldiers increasingly consists of antidepressants such as Prozac, Paxil, and Zoloft, recent investigations show that these drugs are no more effective than placebos and can actually increase suicidality."
However, the killing of our soldiers as a result of such medications may extend further than just suicides for they cause so many other physical complications. We have already looked at the possibility that such brain-damaging drugs could be getting soldiers killed by suppressing reaction time and other performance parameters but by way of another example, California neurologist, Dr. Fred A. Baughman, Jr. investigated a series of veterans' deaths in 2008 and concluded they actually died from cardiac arrest induced by psychiatric drugs.
What had emerged was that all seemed "normal" when the deceased soldiers went to bed and all of them had been prescribed a cocktail of antipsychotics and tranquilizers. In January of the following year the New England Journal of Medicine seemed to back up Dr Baughman's conclusions when it reported that antipsychotics double the risk of sudden cardiac arrest.
It was reported in June 2008 that 89% of veterans labeled with "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder" (and the unreliability and lack of clear, consistent diagnostic criteria of psychiatric labeling and the lack of scientific foundation for these "mental illnesses" are extensively reported elsewhere) are given antidepressants and 34% given antipsychotics. "A third, then, are exposed to the additive potential to cause sudden death," Baughman concluded.
This book will not only cover in detail my own experiences with anxiety disorder, chronic fatigue, and severe depression, but all the therapies that seemed to work best, and a careful, life-long dietary management system that seemed to be most effective in helping me to cope and in certain ways to eventually fully recover. By reading this book, you will benefit from a lifetime of personal information and spiritual help regarding how to alleviate severe depression, terrifying anxiety and really frustrating chronic fatigue. Learn how to recover from most forms of anxiety and depression using meditation, spiritual knowledge, alternitive spiritual diets, ionized water, alkaline minerals, powerful antioxidants and supplements.
Meanwhile Dr Levine adds, "In order to prevent even more suicides, both the research and basic common sense instruct is that we need less psychiatric drugs and more political courage."
He summed up the whole flawed and inhuman psychiatric approach in a nutshell: "For many mental health professionals, especially governmental ones, a 'good treatment outcome' consists of a troubled person adapting to a miserable, dehumanizing environment in a way that causes the least problems for the authorities...mental health professionals are far less likely to recommend a radical altering of an environment than they are to recommend a chemical-altering of the person suffering from it."
But so far as the psycho-pharmaceutical axis is concerned a "change of environment" provides little profit. They make far more money labeling, drugging and damaging those fighting for their country.
