I have recently discovered another great and very honest source of afterife information! The Brazilian medium Francisco C. Xavier, considerd to be the most prolific medium of all time and one of the greatest ever, was born Pedro Leopoldo, Minas Gerais, Brazil, April 2, 1910. Learn more about Francisco C. Xavier and some of the vast number of books he and with the help of one of his spiritual messengers, Andre Luiz created right here.
Why do I have so much faith in Francisco Xavier? Because his work most closely resembles the information presented in the recorded messages through the British direct voice medium, Leslie Flint, yet was in a completely different country, language and culture. Listen to these recordings at the Leslie Flint Educational Trust website which describe many aspects of the afterlife that Francisco Xavier describes such as architecture in the afterlife and education and relationships in the afterlife.
Three books by Francisco Xavier that I have read so far are:
The afterlife is very difficult and challenging subject to study, understand and then write about. There are six major obstacles when trying to study and then write about the afterlife:
1) Far too much apathy or lack of interest for such a VITAL topic as the afterlife.
2) Scientific materialistic skepticism, professional stupidity, and closed mindedness.
3) Religious closed-mindedness, bigotry, devil phobia, and dogmatism.
4) Those who don't want to know because they are afraid of the truth.
5) Malicious entities who ignored their spiritual needs and want to harm others or create other havoc.
6) The actual natural cosmic barrier that exists between this world (baryonic matter) and the higher spheres (dark matter).
The Channeling of Bashar and the Mediumship of Leslie Flint and Xavier
This material is a compilation of some amazing and little known facts about Bashar, his life and his existence as an extraterrestrial on Essassani, the Essassani solar system, and how some of his information regarding today's UFO sightings and the destruction of Atlantis compares with similar information provided many years ago from spirits during a seance with Leslie Flint. This book points to much evidence indicating that there are many civilizations existing on countless astral and semi-astral worlds throughout time and space and that some of their space-craft are actually entering the Earth's atmosphere and are trying to synchronize with our dimension of reality.
Nosso Lar is an outpost on the lower edges of the astral plane established as a series of hospitals and universities to serve and educate newly arrived souls and to assist souls returning to Earth. Nosso Lar is a colony on the lower astral plane right outside the "lower zone" which is incredibly Earth-like. This "town" is connected with many facilities and utilities very similar to those of towns on Earth. They have a massive reservoir and use plumbing, TVs, radios, and even vehicles to get around. At first I thought all this to be very strange that dead people would still use, need and even have such things!
Like Nosso Lar, The Messengers is about service and many soul's struggles for emancipation. Many souls are educated and trained before reincarnating to become mediums or "messengers" with the intent to try in any way they can to remember and bring knowledge back to Earth regarding the things of the spirit and to act as mediums or messengers for other souls still in the spirit dimensions. This book is largely about the mistakes they made, the temptations of the flesh, and pitfalls of materialism they fell into and their struggles for redemption.
Believe it or not, many of the spirits nearest the Earth vibration still have a need to eat and drink! This fact is due to an overall condition of mind; an effect that provides both the need and the means to fulfill it. Spirits do eventually and quite easily learn how to outgrow this need, especially as they become more advanced.
If not ordinary food, the residents of the afterlife drink astral water, eat fruit and often a kind of soup or broth. Classes or lectures are given in how to gain nourishment from spiritual energies (prana) rather than encouraging dependency on food because it often has to be grown in fields and prepared the same way as on Earth! This situation does not apply so much on higher spheres, but is very true at Nasso Lar because it is so close to the Earth vibration. Those planning to reincarnate often live in the most Earthlike regions of the astral planes such as places like Nosso Lar to help prepare themselves for their next incarnation.
The books, Nosso Lar and The Messengers by Xavier are filled with incredible descriptions of afterlife realities. The fields of even the astral planes nearest to Earth are abundant with natural scenery including flowers, grass, plants and animals and everything else one would expect to find in a very beautiful paradise. Birds of all kinds dominate the sky. Massive trees are filled with birds that fly and sing exactly the way they do on Earth. There are mountains, lakes, rivers, mists and on the spheres nearest to Earth where the sun can still be seen, one can enjoy beautiful sunsets. The sun looks and feels different than the way it does on Earth. There are aromatic breezes, night and day, and humans speak normally as they would on Earth, except that thoughts and intentions can be felt, seen or even heard with a little practice.
To learn more about Francisco C. Xavier, go here. The reason I have not learned about this medium earier is because he is Brazilian and all his works need to be translated. A few of his amazing books have been translated so far thank goodness.
Francisco "Chico" Xavier passed on in June 30, 2002.

Vistas of Heaven - Justice in the Afterlife
There is an abundance of information concerning life after death. After over 39 years of personal research and experience in this most exciting subject, I have come to the firm conclusion that there is indeed life after death and that spiritualism and those who have "died" and returned from a near-death experience seem to provide the most reliable, spectacular and detailed information ever on this subject. Life after death experiences should never have been such a controversial subject, but one fully embraced and properly understood by all living human beings. The actual reality behind all paranormal phenomenon is now only beginning to be more fully accepted.
Overcome the Fear of Death
Those few brave scientists, doctors and researchers willing to risk their careers and reputation to come up front with the most helpful and detailed explanations ever as to what to expect beyond the death the physical body, are often ridiculed by their contemporaries and put aside. Even worse too many physicians just emphasize that physical life is all there is, and no consciousness can possibly "escape" the confines of the physical brain, and when the physical brain dies, that's it, no more consciousness! In this great and terrible "valley of the shadow of death" I am simply appalled at the universal lack of understanding regarding spiritualism. So little is known about the reality of life after death, it is shocking.

The Messengers by Francisco Cândido Xavier - Product Description - "This book reveals that physical death discloses the fact that the life of the spirit is in continual evolution. In fifty-one chapters it tells of the experiences of a number of spirits who have reincarnated with pre-programmed work needed for their spiritual growth. It also addresses themes such as Gospel home worship, the benefits of practicing the good, self-negligence and the fear of death. The spirit author focuses on the work opportunity for mediums, warning them about their need to practice the teachings inwardly in order to avoid returning to the spirit world without having fulfilled their commitments."
Evelyn is sick, very sick, and her condition calls for immediate medical attention. Tragically, her illness is only the latest in a lifelong series of crises. As a child she had been orphaned by the death of her father; as a young woman one of her lovers had killed himself. And just recently her much-loved husband had run away from her illness and from her--into the arms of a younger woman.
Now Evelyn is determined to fight back, to undergo an operation that if it fails might kill her, but if successful will give her life a new direction. In the aftermath of the surgery, everything seems to go well. Then she has one more terrible attack.
Coming to herself in a hospital room, she feels oddly healthy, energetic, confident. But the world she has always known and trusted is different somehow. Her relatives are not allowed to visit her, the state of her soul seems to be more important to her doctors than the state of her body, and the people around her hint that they aren't living on Earth anymore.
Thus begins Evelyn's experience of a new realm of awareness, and her discovery that her heart needs a love greater than the love she has known. In reaching toward that love, and in gaining the courage to know herself and others honestly, she also finds a friend to walk this new path with her.
This inspirational novel by André Luiz, physician and poet, who writes through the pen of F. C. Xavier, gently awakens us to the rich meaning of life, friendship, and love. In it, we find that life is a journey on which we add to and recreate our innermost selves--in effect designing our own path toward the goal of love each of us seeks.
This is a true story that illuminates life. In Evelyn's courage you will discover the force of faith, and traces of the invisible design that guides every person's return to love.
About the Author - Francisco Cândido Xavier, the famous Brazilian medium known affectionately in Brazil and throughout Latin America as Chico Xavier, was born in the city of Pedro Leopoldo, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, on April 2, 1910. His formal education is basic: he completed only elementary school. Thereafter, at the age of fourteen, he started working full time to help support his family. He retired in 1958 after working for thirty years as a clerk typist for the local government.
Through his amazing paranormality, spiritual authors have dictated works covering a vast range of subjects: from poetry to historical romances to scientific tomes. His first book, published in 1932, was a collection of poems by deceased great masters; it created a true revolution in the literary circles of Brazil and Portugal. However, his greatest contribution, a new vision of Christianity, came through the series of books authored by Emmanuel, who produced historical romances, and André Luiz, who wrote of the life after life. In addition to his work as a medium, Chico has dedicated his life to Jesus, and through his immense charitable work has become known and respected throughout the world among all the religious schools. He was recommended for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989.
Chico has channeled more than 400 books since 1927, and is the most published author in Brazil today. He has ceded the copyright to his books to charitable organizations.

Kardec's Spiritism: A Home For Healing And Spiritual Evolution by Emma Bragdon - Editorial Review - Allan Kardec's books have played an historic role in the development of several spiritual healing traditions, yet they are virtually unknown to the American public. (This book) attempts to rectify this situation. It is thoroughly researched and thoughtfully written. Many of Kardec's insights seem surprisingly contemporary, even though he wrote them in the 1800s. Numerous spiritist centers base much of their diagnosis and treatment on Kardec's pioneering discussion of what is now called "Energy Medicine". -- Stanley Krippner, PhD. Co-author, "Becoming Psychic" and "Extraordinary Dreams"
Dr. Bragdon is on the leading edge of issues that must be addressed if we are going to realize a transformation in the ways in which health care is currently conceptualized and delivered. The future lies in the development of capacities which lie latent within all of us, and in technology which is more commesurate with recent scientific developments. Dr. Bragdon's book is an important step in that direction. -- Jeffrey Rediger, MD, MDiv. Harvard Medical School, Cambridge, MA.
Health professionals in the West have become much more open to including spirituality in clinical work. While Kardec's approach cannot be transferred en toto to contemporary medicine and psychotherapy, Dr. Bragdon's cross-cultural study of Brazilian Spiritists is a rich resource for seeing how spiritual healing can be taught and practiced. -- David Lukoff, PhD. Professor of Psychology, Saybrook Graduate School
We are not just this body, or mind, or feelings. We are essentially the eternal spirit that has no end. I honor Bradon's great respect for other cultural approaches and can quite clearly see a new spirituality coming from Brazil that will lead our world towards deep healing through a renewal of the teachings of Christ. -- Marilyn Feldberg Founder and Director of World Youth Service and Enterprise
Written with insight and sensitivity, this book is an extraordinary introduction to the rich wellness tradition of Brazilian Spiritists. Authentic and lasting body wellness comes with a sound and well adjusted spirit. Dr. Bragdon captured the essence of this grassroots model that will one day transform our medical care environment. A book that has strength and soul. -- John Zerio, President of the Allan Kardec Educational Society

The Gospel Explained by the Spiritist Doctrine by Allan Kardec - Product Description - The Gospel ( Explained by the Spiritist Doctrine) is a splendid book - elegantly written, radiant in its prose, and a source of charm for the speculative imagination. The book celebrates Allan Kardec's discovery of the Christian message through the poetic longings and devotional confessions of those who have already crossed the great river.
About the Author - Allan Kardec, the nom de plume of H. Leon Denizard Rivail, was a French educator and philosopher born in Lyon on October 3, 1804. In Iverdon, Switzerland, he studied under the prominent Swiss educator, J. H. Pestalozzi, becoming one of his close collaborators. On returning to France, Rivail founded a school modeled after Pestalozzi's and published works on public education and on the teaching of mathematics and French. For one of his research papers, he was inducted into the Royal Academy of Arras. Rivail spoke several languages, and his impressive intellectual background allowed him to teach courses in comparative psychology, astronomy, chemistry and physics in a prestigious scientific school in Paris. Like his teacher Pestalozzi, he was also a champion of the under privileged and, from 1835 to 1840, organized and taught free classes in his own home.
In 1854, at the age of 50, Rivail first heard of the mysterious "rapping" phenomena that had taken America and Europe by storm. Despite his initial skepticism, he was convinced by close friends to attend an experimental meeting where he was able to witness such occurrences first hand. His intellectual curiosity and scientific instincts told him that there had to be a rational explanation for those phenomena. Consequently, he began soon afterwards to conduct investigations of his own. Eventually he was approached by a group of fellow-researchers who asked him to organize a set of fifty notebooks containing transcripts and journals of numerous spirit communications. Using the same logical rigor that he had applied to his work in education and science, Rivail set out to study this material. In the meantime, he supplemented the transcripts with philosophical and scientific questions, which he posed which he posed to different channels (mediums) in different countries. The answers were compared, analyzed, and organized into The Spirits' Book, which was first published in 1857. To keep his new area of research apart from his writings on education, Rivail -- on the advise of spirit-instructors -- adopted the name Allan Kardec, which he was told had been his name in a previous incarnation. In addition to the books he wrote, he founded the Spiritist Society of Paris and La Revue Spirite, a journal he edited until his death in March 31, 1869.
About the Author - Allan Kardec (1804-1869) was a disciple and later a colleague of Pestalozzi, educator and researcher, and professor of Chemistry, Physics, and Comparative Anatomy in France. He became interested in paranormal research in early 1850 and went on to conduct extensive investigation in the phenomena. His first work of compilation and analysis was published in 1857 with the title The Spirits' Book. Over 100 million copies have been printed since then in more than 30 languages.
Spirits and Scientists: Ideology, Spiritism, and Brazilian Culture by David J. Hess - Product Description - Brazilian Spiritism (espiritismo, kardecismo) is an important middle-class religious movement whose followers believe in communication with the dead via spirit mediums and in healing illnesses by means of spiritual therapies. Unlike Anglo-Saxon Spiritualists, Brazilian Spiritualists count among their number a well-developed and institutionalized intellectual elite that has reinterpreted northern hemisphere parapsychology and developed its own alternative medicine and sociology of religion. As a result, the mediation between popular religion (especially Afro-Brazilian religious practices) and the orthodoxies of the universities, the state, and the medical profession.Situating Spiritist intellectual thought in what he calls a broader ideological arena, Hess examines Spiritism in the context of religion, science, political ideology, medicine, and even the social sciences. Hess challenges the legacy of French sociologist Roger Bastide, who saw in Spiritism an elitist, middle-class ideology. In the process, Spirits and Scientists provides a new approach to middle-class religious movements in Latin America.
About the Author - David J. Hess is Assistant Professor of Anthropology in the Science and Technology Studies Department at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
